ABOUT VHPA

Dallas – Fort Worth is the 4th largest Vietnamese city in the United States.

The U.S. census confirmed what many students of the urban-growing community have already realized – the fast growing demographic in the U.S. is the broadly diverse Asian community. Following behind San Jose, Los Angeles, and Houston, the DFW Metroplex is the 4th largest Vietnamese city in the U.S. For example,Vietnamese is the 3rd most spoken language after English & Spanish in the Garland district. In the first decade of the 21st Century (2000-2010) the Vietnamese population in the U.S. grew by more than 37%, and there are more than an estimated 110,000 Vietnamese in the DFW area. With the Vietnamese population growing at an exponential rate, it’s become even more important to establish a safe, supportive and healthy community for Vietnamese individuals. Thus, VHPA was created.

VHPA North Texas is a 501c3, non-profit organization that has been around for over 20 years. We are dedicated to preserving, promoting, and improving the health and well being of the Vietnamese American community. We bring health professionals of all backgrounds together to provide services and exchange ideas. In addition, we strive to connect healthcare professionals, students interested in healthcare, and the local community in order to build a nurturing and healthy community. Through social events and open discussions, we continue to teach the community and each other about Vietnamese culture and current health care news. We also serve the local community by providing free healthcare and help students by providing support, guidance, mentorship, connections and work opportunities.
